Geboren 1961. Studium von Physik und Philosophie in Frankfurt und Aachen. Diplom in Physik 1988 und Promotion 1991 an der JWG Universität Frankfurt. 1995-98 Lawrence Berkeley National Laboratory, Berkeley USA. Feodor Lynen Stipendium der Humboldt Stiftung und Habilitanden Stipendium der DFG. 1998 Habilitation and der Johann Wolfgang Goethe-Universität Frankfurt danach Heisenberg Stipendium der DFG. Seit 2002 Professor am Institut für Kernphysik der Universität Frankfurt.

Forschungsschwerpunkte:  Atom und Molekülphysik, Vielteilchendynamik.  Ion-Atomstöße (keV-GeV) (GSI, IKF), Elektron-Atom und Antiproton-Atom Stöße (CERN), Atom und Molekülphysik mit Synchrotron Strahlung (Hasylab Hamburg, Bessy, Berlin , ESRF Grenoble, ALS-Berkeley), Atom und Molekülphysik in starken Laserfeldern. Kinematisch vollständige Experimente mit COLTRIMS und Reaktionsmikroskopen.

Main Research Topics: Atomic and Molecular Physics. Few-Body dynamics. Ion Atom collisions (keV-GeV) (GSI, IKF), Electron-Atom and Antiproton-Atom collisions (CERN), Atomic and molecular physics with synchrotron radiation  (Hasylab Hamburg, Bessy, Berlin , ESRF Grenoble, ALS-Berkeley), atomic and molecular physics in strong laser fields. Kinematically complete experiments using COLTRIMS and reaction microscopes.

Diplom- und Doktorarbeiten: Vielfältige Möglichkeiten zu Arbeiten  in den ersten Reihen der Forschung. Möglichkeit zu Auslandsaufenthalten.
