Master of Laws degree in European and international economic law (LL.M. Eur.)

This is a one-year degree programme in German language leading to the qualification of a Master of Laws degree in European and international economic law (LL.M. Eur.). To obtain the degree, students must demonstrate that they have acquired a detailed understanding in the area of European and international economic law and produced an academic paper (master’s dissertation) dealing with a legal topic in this area. To be considered for the LL.M. Eur. degree programme candidates must satisfy the requirements to be admitted to the First State Examination in Law in Hesse, with an average grade of 10 points in all the relevant components, or have passed the First State Examination in Law with a grade of at least ‘vollbefriedigend’. Applicants should also have studied at least one semester abroad in a law department or participated in the "DUDF" program (Diplôme Universitaire de Droit Français). Application and required documents

You will receive an account with username and password. Please send the completed and signed application form together with the following documents to Ms. Marion Süß, Dekanat Fachbereich Rechtswissenschaft, Theodor-W.-Adorno-Platz 4, 60629 Frankfurt am Main

  • Authenticated copy of law certificate (First State Examination) or proof of admission to the First State Examination (all lectures/seminars must be completed with an average of at least 10 points)
  • Proof of sufficient knowledge of at least one foreign language (for example, a semester abroad at a law faculty)
  • Name of supervisor
  • Proof of German language proficiency (only foreign law graduates)

It will then be checked whether your application meets the formal requirements for the degree program. If the requirements are fulfilled, you will be informed by mail about the admission. The notification is also available online via the university portal. Upon admission, you will then transfer the semester fee and enroll online via the university portal.

Date for applications

  • The application with all required documents must be received at the Dean´s Office latest by 31st of July each year. Copies of your documents must be certified so that they can be taken into account!
