The M.Sc. in Molecular Biosciences provides in-depth knowledge of molecular aspects in genetics, microbiology, biochemistry, physiology and cell biology via intensive training in several methodical and conceptual areas.

Conditions of admission 

Admission requirements
  • Bachelor of Science or an equivalent bio-scientific programme
  • Proof of sufficient English language skills (level B2), proven by:
    - completed language courses totaling a duration of at least 120h, or
    - documentary proof of academic studies abroad, or
    - proof of at least five years English as school subject with a grade no worse than sufficient, or
    - TOEFL test (score at least 57 points), or
    - IELTS test (score at least 5.0)
Provisional admission

Temporary admission is possible if the Bachelor of Science programme has not yet been completed; this requires a transcript of records stating a minimum of at least 80% of the required for the bachelor's degree CP (normally 144 credit points). Provisional admission is valid until the end of the first semester of the master’s program. The bachelor’s degree must thus be handed in by March 31 (winter intake) the latest.

    university entrance qualification (e.g. A-Levels)
  • certificate of the first, full-degree programme
  • transcript of  records or equivalent document listing the content of the study programme
  • if the Bachelor's degree has not yet been completed:
    a transcript of records or equivalent document listing the content of the study programme and average grade

  • proof of English language skills (level B2)
